Bro, I have absolutely NO CLUE what was wrong with me when I was little. All my life I've been making excuses for not drawing black characters (which isn't a racist thing btw. I myself am an African American) Mona is one of my very few OC's of color, and although I was proud of that for a while... I realize I never reached my true potential in terms of representing my people. Everytime I draw Mona, she has straightened hair-- though she was born with natural coils, for some reason I just didn't like that?? I can't justify my thought process. I was a weird kid. I decided I wanted to keep Mona's natural hair, not just because hair straighteners didn't exist in the medieval times (at least I don't think they did) but because... I mean-- LOOK AT HERRR!!! THIS RIGHT HERE IS A QUEEN GIRL-BOSS MOMENTTT. SHE IS GORGEOUSSSS! WHY DIDN'T I DRAW HER LIKE THIS FROM THE BEGINNING!?!?
