LinkNavarri couldn’t stop being reminded of Falcon.
Not the new Falcon- a cold, pitiful husk of what he once was.
The old Falcon.
The Falcon that would tell bad jokes if you were sad, or give you a hug and tell you it was okay. The Falcon that always seemed to be right around the corner when you needed advice, or just needed to be someplace else, or you just wanted company.
The Falcon that couldn't help but take anyone in need under his wing, including herself at one point, and always forgave you of anything you did wrong- no matter how vile.
It was petty to miss him all this time later. It wasn’t fair to him.
It’d been so many lifetimes she’d lost count since he got buried alive by a group of angry villagers- so many lifetimes since she dug him up and frantically tried to save him even though there was little point to it with how late she was.
She knew he wouldn’t want her to grieve over him.
And even though he was back now, that was almost worse- he was nothing but undead. He hadn’t recognized her.

LinkHell, He’d even forgotten he had a son on more than one occasion- making it her own problem more than his.
It had almost been better to be able to contact his ghost- at least there’d be a crack of personality then. A crack of responsibility.
Speaking of sons..
She glanced out the window, gently pushing the curtain aside.
Where did he go?
