*** Violet and the kits had been playing and talking. Occasionally Apex and June-bug joined. "It's time for bed." June-bug mumbled, yawning. Violet's ears lowered sadly. She had lost track of time, she was having so much fun. Not to mention, hunger was knawing at her still. The kits looked at her sadly. "Goodnight, Violet." Scarab mumbled, curling up beside her mother. "Goodnight." Violet responded, snaking out of the den. She had slipped into her tiny hollow. Yet, she was unable to sleep. Her dream went through her mind, and hunger knawed more than ever. With a sigh, she slid out of her nest. She stalked along, trying to get a scent. She found one, her spirits lifting. They then dropped again as she realized it was stale.

She stomped the ground from frustration. "Why can't I just find something to eat! I'm Starving!" She jumped as she heard a 'mrroww' of laughter. She spun in a circle, her hackles raised. "Quit panicing! I'm not gonna' hurt you." A dark figure leaped down from a nearby tree. It was clearly a she-cat, from the voice. Obviously a black cat, too. It had unusual, purple eyes. Oh, great! Another one from the dream. "So you're hungry? Gimmie' a second." The figure vanished into the nearby flora. Not even a minute later, the cat returned. A mouse dangled from her jaws.

"T-Thank you..Uh, miss!" Violet stammered, surprised by the cat's agility. "Anytime. Say, what's your name?" The she-cat asked, sitting down. Violet gulped down the mouse hungrily. Finishing, she answered, "Violet. Who are you?" "I'm Lo. Nice ta' meet you, Violet." Violet nodded. "You too." "I'll see ya' around." Lo meowed, climbing back up a nearby tree. "Okay."
