Hedge-lions:
Found: Mostly in temperate areas, the exception being the savanna variant.
Diet: The common forest, treetop, and field hedge-lions are omnivores, but mostly eat meat like snakes, birds, mice and bugs. Savanna hedge-lions are entirely carnivorous and often hunt badgers.
Magical abilities/abnormalities: Very intelligent animals. They're able to make their fur soft or spiky on command.
Size: All adult hedge-lions are 4 inches tall (sitting up) and 3 inches long.
Predators: Due to their ability to become spiky on command only dragons hunt these animals.
Behavior: Common forest, and treetop hedge-lions act like cats, field hedge-lions are much more mellow and act more like dogs towards people & animals they like, well savanna hedge-lions are the most aggressive.

LinkBefore making your own Hedge-lion please note:
The colors can be picked, but do make sure that the colors are true to whatever sub-species you make! Here is a color guide line (ask if you are confused):
Common forest Hedge-lions: Winter fur can be any combination of cold colors! Tree moss fur must have a green back, the body can be any color that an existing tree wood can be! And Rock moss must have a green back, normally the body is a more common shade of gray. But can be any color if a rock comes in that color!

LinkTreetop Hedge-Lions: Winter fur- bodies must be a wood color, and the back must be some cold color! Spring/Summer fur can be any combination of browns and greens! (Yes you could flip the colors for this one!) Lastly Fall fur must consist of warm colors!

LinkField Hedge-lions: Winter fur- normally just pale green backs and pale brown bodies. (Can have other specks of cold colors!) Mid-fall is more pale, you can use yellow for the backs! And Summer/spring is just any shade of brown bodies with any shade of green!
Go crazy with the flowers and their colors! The flowers are real and are growing on their backs so do whatever with the flowers!

LinkLastly Savanna Hedge-lions: Their fur is any color that any African big-cat can be!
As for patterns/markings (for all of them): Anything goes! If you wanted you could make it so part of their fur looks like a ladybug is on it. (Something like this is the only way you could go off color for any of the hedge-lions)
Stripes or spots anything goes! If they can camouflage in their environment it's fine!

LinkHedge-lions are an OPEN SPECIES!
Please credit me with the species if you make one! Other than that feel free to make one!
All colors are just variations that could occur.
Also! Common forest, treetop, and field Hedge-lions can all be pets due to their more 'domestic' nature.

I needed to add something here because I 100% forgot...
Cross species between Hedge-lions are ok! (Treetop + Common forest for example)
It is mostly common with The common forest, treetop, and field hedge-lions, as they're used as pets and cross breeding to make cuter, or more desirable fur colors/patterns isn't uncommon!
Note: Physical traits depend completely on species of the mother! Her traits will be most dominant (In features such as length of fur, tail shape, ect). Color mostly depends on the father, but even hybrids can exist too!
