LinkIma be real with you guys, I’m starting to drift away from this website..
I really wanna continue making content for you guys, to make animations and all that, but I’ve noticed this..change in the “algorithm” that makes it hard for me and MANY big accounts to continue doing what we do...let me explain
There is a formula, I’ve tested it, it worked every time, I’ve made post that u might think I made for the hell of it, but really was an experiment. The fa late 2019 to 2020 formula is simple. Accounts that don’t have relatable/“social” animations get over looked by those who do (not saying who or group). A new wave of people are coming to this site and many accounts aren’t prepared for there interest. You also need to make post that get people to socialize (“trends”, Q&As, wwyd, etc..)
Ever wonder why q&a post, and trends usually get the most likes? it’s all bc they get people talking

LinkWhat does this have to do with me tho, personally ion care who likes or comment on my stuff, just the thought of people liking and taking time to watch what I do genuinely puts a smile on my face, you guys Fr don’t understand the genuine love I have for ya, But the way fa works now gets to a point where it becomes..uninspiring? Like, knowing that In order for more people to see and like what I do I have to be like everyone else is just..just rubs me the wrong way lol, that’s so bleh and boring.
I’m still a part of this community, I try my best to stay active and what not but I feel like I’m slowly leaving to focus on my YouTube stuff with the team, since that seems to be the hot thing for my account. Sigh..idk guys Im just all over the place when I think about what to do, and how to play by the “system” lol

LinkIn short, the way the new generation of FA works like this, steal ______ show them as ur own, think ur hot stuff but it’s only bc it’s a ________so ofc everyone’s going to agree, grow an ego that’s SO annoying to the point where thinking of you makes me puke..(if you know..you know lmao, I put _ bc I’m not trying to reveal who it/ or they are..just a lil vent

Mini rant vent aside, you have to make content everyone else is doing at the time, if there’s a trend do it, if everyone’s hating or liking on a particular thing, talk about it. You’ll notice the people who bringing in the likes are usually people who don’t even realize they’re following a subconscious system lol (not naming names)

LinkThe whole steal art thing is actually starting to grow, where people steal files. If FA could do something like you can send comments to SPECIFIC people that would be sweet and stop the random people getting so much goddamn attention. I don't understand why anyone would go to someone's file they shared to their followers so they could ADD to, and then take it, sign it, and say it's theirs. I'm really ticked off by these idiots that only care about trolling or popularity, because I will report if I find any stolen art. All I can say to to you guys is don't be them, and ignore them. If they want people to notice they have to earn it, if you know your not a art stealer then good. If you are the change, if you don't I WILL REPORT THE HECK OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT. Just don't take credit of art if you didn't help and/or drew it... *sigh* Bye and have a good day

Well for me it was my sarcasm. My fan base knew my sense of humor and it clicked with them, it was “unique”
I had fan jokes about food and such that was a lil gag with my followers. You have to have Smth that makes people want to not only follow you, but WANT you. I’d that makes sense? U want people to look forward to ur next anim

But yeah, I second that. It kinda sucks to see all of the good quality art get overlooked by people who are drifting over to the unoriginal trends.

I remember doing trends were fun, but now it's so uninspiring. I'd rather spend my time drawing quality content rather than milking my audience for likes and attention. In my opinion, it's not worth it.
Yeah, tbh, im not even that active here either. I mean, i know i just joined, but flip anim now for me feels like more of a, 2nd alternate hobby. Im not saying i dont like being here and want to leave again. I love being here with everyone,, but here in 2020 in the new algorithm of flip anim, i just domt post as much as i do anymore like back then, and i posted things such as "favorite fa inspirations" and "do i make you happy", just so i can have a time to simply talk with others here. I post like either once a day, or even once two or three days, mostly cuz thats just been my schedule, but im hoping to stay here and stay active.
The reason why I do those "trends" is because
A: I am really bored and out of ideas.
B: I really want to get to know my audience more often.
And C: I sometimes struggle communicating to others because, I don't really have anything interesting to talk about.
I don't care about the likes, but I often get upset everytime a trend is on popular.
Also because I'm considered "Famous" on flipanim, a lot of people follow me just because of my art and animations, and instead of those trends. I do like being called "Art goddess" and stuff, but I also want to be treated like a normal person.Also what kinda makes me upset is when some people just ask for fanart or requests.
That's fine! But yeah, I don't like people requesting fanart out-of-the-blue either.
What's also kinda strange is when I post an anim asking a question...it then turns into a trend, and I'm a bit surprised about that.
Also another reason why I do those 'trends' is because I'm busy working on something else,like a big project, on the new editor too.

People who are famous and do "trendy things" like mac, icon, mint, cocoa, kat, (sometimes iaab) for example... recently I did one, it was the "Do I inspire you?" one, but it was just because I wanted to see how many people would flock to it.....its better to just be original. lmao.
I just mean your little vents and rants...they're mostly about things already said lol, no harm in it tho! you're good at animating them :V..

Another thing I hate, WHY DO SHITPOSTS GET MORE LIKES THAN ACTUAL ART!? LIKE B R U H I hate when that happens!
MANY people on this site are very young so problems like this are to be expected. It's sad to see all the unoriginal trends and uninspiring things at the top. It's because Young people tend to talk more and are more easily impressed by the things they're seeing. Young people are very easy to be influenced by popularity so when they get likes, follows and such on their animations, they tend to think content like that makes them better than other people who don't get as many likes as they do.
Now this is true! People have asked me hey lemon! How do u socialise? Well I have been doing a test too! Seeing if I do normal art and if people say thing and me not answering and I have been doing very talkative anims. On the anims I don’t talk people are asking me questions and kinda making me talk?! If u know what I mean <33 it’s fine but I notice how u noticeably gain followers by talking, pfp is appealing, and u have mega cute/realistic/appealing art! People just follow u for ur personality mainly which is completely fine but the whole website point is to produce art! People are like OMG I LOST 2 FOLLOWERS! but honestly this website is mainly aimed for art. I get why talkative anims get more like but think about the point of this website please! <333 not hating on anyone here!
Tru. I made this acc experimenting on that. Turns out since this acc actually has PLOT or somethin like dat it grew much faster
This is why I'm always so happy to see actual originality, and make a point to follow those people. People who know what they like and are constantly doing their own thing, regardless of what the trends are.
Don't get me wrong I love seeing a good Q&A, or a questionnaire or trend but when that's all a person does it's just meh

And the community has developed this weird vibe to it. A lot of people seem to be doing art and animations just for likes or features. And like you said with the trends, it gets other people to like them and give that user attention. It's difficult to explain but its really making me want to scream
I've had that theory since I joined summer of 2018
It's not all about good art and improvement, hardly anyone cares for that anymore, it's about communication and attention.
According to my own research people can have honestly cheap and crap art that takes like 3 minutes to make but if they're seen everywhere on featured anims, regular anime, popular page anime, etc., they gain more following than someone who has amazing art but only uploads 2-3 weeks.
And then I have a whole nother theory of how certain people's followings are so big:
They have decent art and suddenly gain an influx of new followers- everyone sees this and follows suit. It becomes a "trend" to like these people and comment on their stuff and if you don't then you're immediately outcast.
Eg: users like stickworld and thetaco followed this pattern for some time.
