Sycamore stared at the fridge at one of Sol’s drawings he made years ago. She just stood there, staring at the picture at eye level. She wished S9l were still innocent. She wished he was still her sweet, loving, grateful little toddler. Her toddler that would actually have emotion and wasn’t violent and too innocent to know much about reality. But he found out after h8s sister was adopted. Somehow, some way, he found out about it the moment she entered the family. Sol went from innocent to heartless faster than anyone she’d ever seen. She wanted her old Sol back. She wanted him back now.

A sudden knock on the door sent ghostly shivers down her spine. Maybe Sol was waiting at her doorstep, ready to murder his mother once and for all. Maybe Willow was back and ready to poison her. Or, perhaps, it was Pine, who was going to give her poisoned food to end her. As she walked up to the door slowly, she could hear more knocking. She shakes in fear, not ready to die yet. All se wanted was to be away from the terrible life of an assasin. She was retired and needed no trouble. The knocking stopped when Sycamore went to open the door. She twisted the handle and pulled open the door, a fresh breeze hitting her face.

She opened the door to see nobody was there. All that was left on her deserted concrete patio was a piece of paper. It was from when Sol was about 2 or 3 years old. He had drawn a carrot, and it disappeared for many years. Sycamore assumed Sol had taken it, but she saw a red Corvette drive out of her driveway. Pine gave it to her. That’s where it was all these years. He clearly wanted younger Sol back, too. Sycamore hadn’t seen nor interacted with her husband in years. They didn’t get divorced, but instead they separated without the law, leaving Sycamore to deal with two children. Pine occasionally came over and watched the kids, but he would never interact with her. He’d come over and she’d leave. They hadn’t seen each other since three days after they adopted Ghost. And now he left something he took from her.
