★~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The reeds blew back and forth closing in the entrance to nursery. A small silver kit slept soundly buried in his mother's pelt. He was around 6 moons and was finally able to leave the nursery, despite his mother's concern. Today was the day that silver little kit, Finichkit, would become an apprentice. ★~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Finchkit's eyes widened, he knew exactly what day it was. Something made him want to gulp, while he was excited to be an apprentice anxiety tore through him. Mistybright, his mother, was deeply worried about his trouble breathing and his stange insight and interest in the unknown. Finchkit put his worries aside, of course he was ready! ★~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As the sun rose to the middle of the sky the Finichkit heard the call for the meeting, "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting." Bubblestars words echoed over the clearing. Finchkit pushed aside the reeds and walked into the clearing with Mistybright.

His ears twitching, Finchkit watched as Bubblestar called down, "Finchkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Finchpaw. Your mentor will be Birdbiter. I hope Birdbiter will pass down all he knows on to you." Birdbiter came to touch noses with Finchpaw and nodded. Mistybright, despite their worries could be seen not much farther away than Birdbiter, her eyes seemingly bursting with pride. Tomorrow training would begin and Finchpaw couldn't wait a second longer. ★~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
