Look, I'm not an anxious cat however.. I'm an anxious cat. On one hand, I couldn't WAIT to start training, on the other, well Orchidkit never was a particularly nice kit, but Orchidpaw?? well I might as well lay down dead as they would never let me be. Not to mention, my mother has warned me my entire time in the nursery that I needed to be careful of outside camp. But I NEEDED to push my worries aside to get through today it was almost sunrise and I knew Birdbiter wasn't the most patient of the bunch.

Walking out of the apprentice den, I tried my best to not notice Orchidpaw but it was a lost cause; she would jump at every chance to get me down. How was I supposed to control my heritage? I didn't ASK to have a mother that was once a kittypet. However, the way Orchidpaw acted made it seem like she WANTED me to go to kittypet life. Heck, I didn't even know at the time why everyone hated them. I mean, I knew that people did but, not that bad. Either way I knew Orchidpaw wasn't very keen on them, "Late for training I see," Orchidpaw sneered, "Not surprised, kittypets sleep in too." Before I could defend myself, she turned around with her tail high. "Another day," I mumbled to myself, "Another insult."

While I did hate Orchidpaw her insults didn't hurt me as bad, Orchidpaw does as Orchidpaw does. There was nothing new. So I continued over across the clearing to Birdbiter. Birdbiter was rather small, however, he knew about everything in the book, and, despite his short appearance, he could take on the biggest ShadowClan cat. I could only gawk, my mentor was one of the best warriors in the clan! I snapped back to reality when he spoke, "Finchpaw, I am pleased to be your mentor. I see great potential in you," His deep voice was soothing, despite his impatience, "Would you be okay with training with Sparkpaw and Acorncatcher?" "Yeah!" I yelped, barely containing my excitement, "Of course!" Back when Sparkpaw was Sparkkit we were playmates. I had lost all my siblings to greencough at a young age so Sparkkit would always play with me instead. I trotted excitedly to the apprentice den to wake Sparkpaw soon we would be at the training hollow.

Finally!" Sparkpaw cheered, "Now what?" We sat perched in the training hollow. Sparkpaw was a mainly positive cat with a tiny bit of attitude. She had a fiery pelt and yellow-green eyes, a long tail, and a very strong idea of what's right and wrong. Acorncatcher seemed amused, "Well, I don't know.." He mewed sarcastically. Now Sparkpaw wasn't short of being patronized but knew that it wasn't exactly respectful to talk back to her mentor. Of course, Birdbiter was already impatient, "Ok, enough chit chat lets get to the point. Today I'm assuming you'd like to see the borders?" Birdbiter didn't wait for an answer, "Well let's go!" We dodged the thorns and ran through the bracken soon we were at the RiverClan border. My nose stinged, this was nothing like the comfort of ThunderClan. The farther we went the more I felt more and more strange. Well I didn't particularly LIKE the stench of ShadowClan, I didn't see why all the clans stayed apart.

I didn't DARE say a word about it though, if it has always been that way there must have been a reason. right? Why would we keep living like this if something else was better. Sparkpaw's words snapped me back into reality, "Hey Finchpaw?" Sparkpaw chuckled, "You there?" "U-uh, w-what??" I stumbled, "I-I mean, yes?" Sparkpaw nearly died laughing, "You on earth or..?" "I uh, I mean, w-what are you talking about?? hehh?" I nervously blurted out. "Look, Finchpaw just try to stay focused from now on." Acorncatcher cut in. "Yes." Birdbiter commanded without another word, something seemed to be troubling him but I couldn't tell. The next was a blur. my mind still swam and questioned why there was such a divide among the clans, but I tried to push it out of my head. Soon I realized my paws had took me back to camp. "Well that's it for today," Acorncatcher mewed. I walked sleepily to the apprentice den. My first day had come and gone. I curled up softly in my nest and fell asleep.
