jazz has always been a cocky little shithead in every version i had of him (2019 jazz arc w/ beryllium's yandere-esque arc, 2021-2022 jazz arc where jazz's entire personality was "my dad r-worded me and i have daddy issues! oh im also gay too!", and now 2023-2024 jazz with his entire personality being gay and having to be an unwanted teenage parent)

jazz became a major trauma dump with added in traits of what people would see similar to angeldust and I DONT WANT THAT helfp

i think i might revamp jazz into someone who hasnt been able to emotionally mature, even well into his 40s before his suicide. ive always seen jazz as childish, to put in simple terms, and that hes emotionally immature because he never had a decent childhood aside from his own father and multiple of his father's friends sexually abusing him

jazz has also been an alcoholic to cope and hes used alcohol and drugs... and sex to cope

anyways jazz's character has always ended up being one of lack of emotional maturity he still throws 'fits', he still uses self-harming and impulsive behaviors (drugs, alcohol, excessive sex), and he often manipulates. he also has a big fanbase (in his world as a famous rapper) and he resents it because he doesnt want people looking up to him

also hes been a victim of two different sets of generational trauma: his ex, Palm Leaf, and his father, Nitrogen. palm leaf had friends that encouraged abusing women and had the 'andrew tate' mindset, alongside palm leaf having a very abusive sister that forced herself upon him. palm leaf was 12 when he killed his older sister. when he and jazz got together, palm leaf dumped /a lot/ of that onto jazz and even forced himself on jazz more than once. after beryllium (jazz's older brother for those who dont know) confronted palm leaf and started the blood feud, palm leaf truly realized the impacts of his actions and he genuinely tries to seek therapy. palm leaf does heal eventually, but beryllium keeps him away from jazz and jazz's daughter, arran-bee.

nitrogen. oh boy nitrogen! he originally never got lore since hes just the token abuser character that abuses for no reason! but im changing that nitrogen always looked up to his father. he did everything his father said, and both him and nitrogen abused nitrogen's mother relentlessly until she committed suicide. nitrogen also had a younger sister, but that younger sister was killed too. dont do drugs kids! nitrogen and his father had the Thistleclaw and Tigerpaw dynamic: encouraging abusive behavior and not allowing for anything but brutality. nitrogen was seen as a bully and everyone always avoided him. nitrogen later becomes an adult (22) and he meets the girl who would become the mom of jazz and beryllium! mardi gras! except mardi gras was 15 when she met nitrogen. mardi gras quickly got out when jazz turned 3, and nitrogen would later lash out on jazz. nitrogen tried getting the abusive-mentor dynamic with beryllium, but beryllium fought back against nitrogen.

hes honestly a serious character but i represent him as silly too much, which isnt what his character really is. sure, hes fun and sarcastic, but hes in reality a miserable middle aged man
