The table shook slightly as the small girl sat in a chair, a tall man sitting at the other end.
"So, as you know I invited you here for a reason'" the man smiled "I need some information on a criminal we are looking for."
"I thought you were the bartender of this town, not the detective."
The man laughed slightly, then slid a newspaper across the small bar table. He watched as her eyes darted across the paper and as slight fear creeped on her face "You know him, do you not?"
The girl squirmed a tiny bit in her chair "No, why would I?"
The man stood up, smiling "That freak told me you were an awful liar. She also told me you'd be a bit..stubborn. I know what you know, so you might as well tell me." He placed a hand on her shoulder, making her slightly jump.
She glared at him "Scarlet isn't a freak. She only told you about me because you gave her no choice, so who's the freak now?"
"And she was right about the stubbornness as I suspected, my pretty little witch."
She pried his fingers off of her shoulder "Don't call me that."
The bartender only tightened his grip "Then tell me about the kid."
She fell silent for a moment, looking back at the front photo of the Daily Times of the masked boy before answering
"Soul wouldn't like me telling you."
"Oh, don't bring another one of your circus act friends into this! You know this kid, tell me how!"
"Fine, I live with the jerk!," She caved in, pulling his hand off of her shoulder and standing up, shaking the table "I shall be on my way now, unless you want to interogate anything else out of me, mister bartender."
She walked over to the door, slamming it open, not knowing what she had just let the strange man know. She walked out onto the street, leaving the room of possibly one of the greatest mysteries for the police behind her as she started her walk back home.
