LinkSo i've been noticing this thing that's been happening. An artist will draw an o.k/mediocre piece and then just over shade it to heck. Like shading parts that don't really need to be shaded and just adding waaaaay to much of the paint roller tool. I think, they think it makes it look "realistic" and "detailed" but it doesn't. It actually ruins the piece, losing the colors they had before. Don't get me wrong, the paint roller tool can make things look amazing, but it shouldn't be the main thing. It's a accent. Simple art styles look better with simple shading. Or at least don't over use the paint roller tool. Either way, i hope people stop doing this, and i think it's stunting some artists growth, because people will just spam them with positive messages, but they should point out the over use of the paint roller tool. Because the artist will just continue doing that, and won't actually improve, in colors and lighting, and shading.
Either way, that's my smol TED talk.
