LinkI don't always use purple, i also like to use dark blue and coral! and I don't always keep the yellow layer there. its so I don't get distracted by the markings of the character, but sometimes I erase it so the character blends into the shading better :)

Linkalways always ALWAYS use a light source! if you're new to it I would suggest drawing an arrow showing where the light is coming from, so its easier to know how to shade
