Haha its fine :) ...so if Im lazy I do it as a simple criss-cross pattern using the paint roller or something If not there are a lot of ways you can draw scales, sometimes instead of actually drawing them you can use the paint roller and draw a thousand dots all over the body to give it a scaly look, or if you do want to draw them out individually I sometimes look at lizard pictures for references. Around the face sometimes the scales are smaller than on parts of the body, sometimes they overlap and sometimes they all just fit in there like a jigsaw puzzle. If Im drawing what I think is the more popular overlapping kind I usually start from the top and work my way down the body. I hope this helps :)
