Insane, they call me. Completely crazy, they say. The padded, white walls of my room seem fake. I laugh - laugh knowing that none of it is real. None of what is in front of me is real. It’s all just a mind game. That’s why It put me here. It knows that I know it’s all fake. It tells me that I’m just crazy. But It know so, too. This is not real, I think, looking to the ceiling where the camera sits, scanning over the room. My room. I laugh again, my body rocking side-to-side. “It’s not real!” I call to the camera. “It’s all fake!” I laugh uncontrollably, tears starting to form in my eyes. “You know it’s all fake!” I roll on the ground, laughing still. I close my eyes, imagining all the things I know aren’t real when I hear the door open. I look over, smiling as a feeble woman walks in with some food. “Here you go.” She says sweetly. Too sweetly. It makes me laugh. Her name tag reads “Rose”. Cliché. “It’s fake.” I say, still smiling. The woman looks at me. S

but her eyes show a little confusion and maybe even fear. “No, it’s real - see?” She picks up a red apple, rolling it in her hands before putting it back on the plate. “No it’s not.” I giggle. The lady, Rose, walks to the door and steps out for a few seconds, her long brown hair swaying behind her as she closes the door. I eat, and a few minutes later, the tray is empty of it’s fake food, sent by the fake people in this fake room. The lady walks back into the room, and I laugh at her. Her hair still flows behind her in a wave, but her stride seems more confident. She walks to pick up the tray and I try to grab for the keys, but she jerks her hand up, grabbing my wrist. I look into her ey

ice blue eyes. “You’re not the same person.” I chuckle. She glares at me, and I see the fear in the new lady’s eyes. Same brown, flowy hair. Same name tag. Same stature. Different eyes. Different person. “What are you talking about?” She asks. “You aren’t the same person.” I repeat, smiling.
