Well if the dragons chest does get stabbed the gas will escape like if a torch is being lit, so the chest will deflate and burn the broken flesh so there is a small chance of death the dragon won't be able to breath fire anymore for protection till the gash is fixed unless it is way to damaged then the dragon shall get surgery to remove the lungs

not really, there is a small piece of muscle blocking the passage to avoid constantly breathing out fire so if you are squeezing them HARD i doubt you'd burn

for the men it's the same but for them it's the pecks, the lungs are more compact because it's protected with a layer of muscles and gives it more of a flat shape
