I will admit that my complaints are mildly pretty, but I feel like there's a bit wrong with certain aspects of this community.

For example, what gets posted. I know that not everything is gonna have the heart and soul put into it, but it feels like over half of what gets posted here took less than 2 minutes, such as the image in this post. I know the site isn't gonna be filled with Da Vincis, but it is weird when a lot of posts are just words with blank backgrounds with uninteresting bullshit nobody cares about.

Like seriously, this is a website meant for art. Good or trash, at least make something that's worthy of being called art every once in a while. There are people whose content is 90% blank canvases with words.

Then there's the development of the site. The editor has some serious problems and while I realize captcha is necessary it's a hindrance. It appears flipanim removed it for comments but not animations, which is just backwards logic on his part. ReCaptcha prevents comment spam, but it's harder to span animations. When I tried to upload my latest animation, the recaptcha timed out at least 5 times. Please fix this issue.

Now I'm not even gonna vent on the site as a whole, but something that annoys me are how contests are done. Most of the time they're so freaking stupid, like "draw muh OC uwu (usually from people with very few followers anyway, like why should people draw it if it's irrelevant?" or "Try to copy this bad drawing owo" and shit. Like seriously, they're pretty bad. One contest that is kinda interesting is using certain colors, which is pretty cool but at the same time pointless since colors are interchangeable for many things, like Pop Art where the faces all have different colors. There are good contests like ones based on certain themes, or where you draw something from a certain series. I think contests should allow creativity and for people to kinda do their own thing.

Also, I think Flipanim should get more admins and developers for this site. I know the workload must be a lot, and I think it would benefit everyone.

Yeah, most of the actual art I see is decent. People really do put their foot forward most of the time, when they actually create art.

Indeed. Maybe there should be a certain kind of category for posts like that where people just want to speak their mind or something.
