Just because I put the straight flag in doesn't mean I'm heterophobic.
Just because I'm straight doesn't mean I hate everyone LGBTQ+ community.
If you say that "straights shouldn't have pride" (not pointing at any specific people, it's just that I see it a lot), that's heterophobic. You're throwing all Allies under the bus.
Did you know that it took two people of different genders to create you? Your parents may have been straight themselves, and because of their love for each other, they shouldn't have pride?

LinkSome people don't believe in heterophobia, and I feel it needs to be addressed. If we can all live in peace the world would be a much better place.
I believe that everyone should be respected for who they are, no matter their sexual orientation. In addition, I'm fine with polysexual relationships as long as you have everyone (in that relationship)'s consent.
Just because pride month mainly focuses on LGBTQ doesn't mean straight people shouldn't have pride. I (think I) am straight myself, and I believe that we all deserved to be treated equally.
Also, if you look at my headband it's a straight ally flag. It's subtle but it's my way of saying that not all straights are homophobic and there are a lot of people who support LGBTQ+.
I beg to differ. Tbh, having a straight flag makes it easier for me when I make refs sometimes.
Moreover, I think saying that the straight flag shouldn't exist kinda neglects the allies. If every other sexual orientation gets a flag, why can't straights get one as well?
Because straight people didnt have to fight for the right to marry? They didnt have to fight for your flag? You were just given it.We have pride and our own separate flags because we fought for them!

I dont really know what to think about they ally flag? I mean a few allies fought with the lgbtq+ community, but then again allies didnt have to fight for their own personal rights to marry ect because they're straight, yknow? If you disagree that's fine but
I simply feel that everyone should be treated equally. Just because a group of people did something bad doesn't mean everyone should be punished for it.
In addition, straight people helped members of the LGBTQ+ community gain those rights. For example, Barack Obama legalized same-sex marriage.
No, I agree, I just think that because straight people didnt get murdered simply for who they love, and didnt get discriminated against because they're straight, they dont really deserve a flag? Where as lgbtq+ people have been murdered, abused, and just not treated as human as a whole, just because they're not cishet. Lgbtq+ people are still being murdered to this day. Because lgbt+ people have gone through so much, and have fought for so long we have a flag, and pride. Like, I'm not against the idea of a flag for allies, but did straight people get murdered for being straight? No. We have a flag and pride because we've been treated as less for a LONG time, where as straight people didnt even fight for their flag. They were just given it to them.

I understand that now, and I will keep it in mind for next year. I had no idea that this controversy even existed until earlier this year.
