LinkIt seems like this site will be in some sort of frozen state, but it’ll still be up. Everybody is bidding farewell. It is not my time to leave yet, but I want to give thanks to you all before it’s too late. I’m still working on the project: a multi-media tribute project for my old friends and those who knew me, and I want to stick around. The project is nowhere near complete (procrastination and large scope), but I definitely do not want to abandon it.
Most of the following writing is from the project.

LinkFlipAnim will always be the top highlight of 2020 for me. This place means a lot to me, even if I was only active for five months. I fostered my passion for drawing there. I watched the platform waste away on the sidelines. I left most of my passion for drawing there because I lost motivation and drawing felt tedious, but found new interests that I probably wouldn’t have pursued without the platform. I drifted away from my old friends there, but I was able to reconnect with them again. I am lucky and grateful that I get the opportunity to express my gratitude for you all with the project, and share what I love and my works created for the project that I think will be cool. How I will share the project to everybody on here after April 5 remains to be unseen.
As the future of this site is unclear, I want to give thanks to everybody.

LinkThank you, my old friends RedHoodedDude, CinderFrost, MrTopHat456, Jaye-C, BizzareAnimating, and kaigekirbyanimations, for the time we spent together back then, and for allow me back into your life all of these years later. Without you six, my time on FlipAnim wouldn’t have been the same, and the project wouldn’t have been created. I am sorry that we couldn’t spend more time back then, and that I didn’t try to keep contact with you, or contact you sooner. We weren’t close friends, but you all did not show any animosity when I got back into contact with you all, and I really appreciate that. Thank you. I wish the best for you six. Please, do good.

LinkThank you, old followers, for the support and encouragement, especially the ones who thought “Hey, this art isn’t half bad”. Thank you to the ones who participated in my contests and collabs. Thank you to the ones who hosted contests and collabs I participated in.
Thank you to the ones who regularly took time out of their day to browse the new anims, for art and not just the featured or popular anims, and all FlipAnim users who welcomed and encouraged new up-and-coming artists. You are the unsung heroes of FlipAnim.
And a special thank you to kaigekirbyanimations. You sparked this entire project.

LinkI did not make the project because I felt like I was indebted. I have an obligation to at least thank everybody. More is optional.
And I chose to do more.

LinkHere are retrospectives from me and my friends. These were meant for the project.
"I used FlipAnim, and found that its simple tools helped me learn the basics of animation. It has a nice community. People share animations, support each other, and become friends, which makes the site more fun to use”
—RedDude’s retrospective on FlipAnim
“Flipanim was a great way to start my art journey. It helped me make friends when I had none back in middle school, and the community genuinely made me excited to draw and collab. Though those days are behind me, I am grateful for the friends I made on there, and the time I spent developing my art.”

Link“My retrospective on FlipAnim? That's a tough one. In my opinion, when I first started, it had its potential. I got to be a part of it before it went downhill. If it was still open for new accounts, I feel like it would be a good choice for people who want to start somewhere fresh. The community that I’ve seen has it good and bad, with some people trying to put themselves last for the website, and some people not being that nice to others. I think my time on there was good. I met nice people, who I got to be friends with. It changed in the way I wanted to be as an animator/artist, but what I think caused the downfall of it was the lack of updates by the owner. Either he forgot about it, or moved on.”

Link"FlipAnim was a place where I started growing in my artistic capabilities online. Along the way, I learned new things and made very good friends. I came there during the pandemic, seeking an escape from my boredom. I think that was one of the best decisions in my life."

Link"I'm honestly not sure what to say or where to start because like most of us, this site has provided both good and bad times—in my perspective, I've went through a lot of unasked-for drama, and that really changed me as a person; I'm no longer happy most of the time, or silly at all (well, I could potentially still have my moments). I grew my art style on my own with no guidance, but what the journey ahead had in store for me. Practice. The years ahead gave me more experience, both socially and artistically. If I hadn't had that experience, I wouldn't be where I am. Hey, it's not like I had a choice XD. I had to grow mentally some time, somehow... somewhere. FlipAnim was that place ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Um, okay, bye. Cheers!”

“FlipAnim was pretty cool. Eventful too. I still remember the DollarMelonDollar thing that happened.”

“Five months may not sound that significant, but they are very much so to me. I improved my artistic abilities, made friends, and received compliments and encouragement. While my interest in art has mostly died, I have several interests that I probably wouldn’t have pursued without FlipAnim. I had a lot of fun and enjoyment during my time on there. It is an absolute shame that the site was grossly neglected after 2020. I will always miss 2020 FlipAnim—the one I knew, grew up with, and will always remember fondly, along with the friends I made there.”

LinkTo end this off I would like you to listen to these two songs:
The Popular Demo (Tonight, Tonight) by Wayfinder - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AUpZNq2vSQ
It feels like a fitting song for what’s happening with FlipAnim
Crystal Hammer by Karsten Obarski - https://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_player&query=104882
At the end of the project, I was going to ask you to listen to this. It’s one of my all-time favorite songs, and feels like it works as an ending song.

Keep on drawing, animating, sketching, or doodling, if you can find enjoyment in it. Stay safe, do good, and take care
