LinkThere's this cute little bakery in your town, you've passed by it quite a few times but never went in. It's name was in french and the outside was pretty dull pink, covered in vines.
one day you decide 'why the hell not' and stopped by.
the inside was also cute pinks. There were a few places to sit the inside was much like the outside but the plants were fake.
the menu had the normal bakery things on it, even meat pies.
There was no one in there but a man with rabbit features. the man was just standing behind the counter, looking like hes spaced off.
do you go up and order something or walk back out?

Abi spent a moment to look around the bakery, seemingly interested in the plants before realizing they were fake. She walked up to the bunny man and waved at him. Despite seemingly wearing a blindfold and mask, she could see and speak just fine.
"Excuse me sir, could I have a piece of Red Velvet cake? And what type of meat is used in the meat pies?" She wanted to treat Isfrid to something external for once, though Abi never ate anything that wasn't hand-sourced.

The rabbit stood quietly for a moment longer then blinked and looked up at her.
"Quoi? Oh, c'est vrai. oui, ok.." he turned and wandered off to the back, bring out the cake the lady asked for.
"umh..meat, is whatever i can catch.. mostly veal." he shrugged slightly. "sometimes..rabbit or.." he trailed off. "uhm im sorry, did you want one?"

"yeah..a little. ill go get you one." he gave a small apologetic smile and hurried off to the back again.
it would be a moment before he came back, holding a pie and putting it on the counter. "there. 3.00 for the pie, 5 for the cake."
Abi looked at the man and realized the mention that he said that he put rabbit in some of the meat pies, and the fact that he looked like a rabbit. She snorted quietly at the irony of it as she pulled out her wallet and counted out the money.
"Here you go." She handed it to him. "How many people visit this place often? It looks pretty nice"
"not many, people think I'm weird."
He took the money and put it in the register.
"i don't blame them though, i am pretty weird..one of my first impressions on a neighbor was them seeing me pull a dead cat from the road with my bare hands. i just wanted to bury it."
"A pretty heartfelt thing to do, I'd respect you for that." Abi nodded, moving to sit down in a chair.
"I'm just waiting for Isfrid to arrive currently. She got a bit distracted while shopping." Abi looked at the clock before pulling out a little blue orb, holding it to her ear like a cell phone. "Isfrid I got food for you, and it's something different this time, stop shopping for hats again, you always wear the same one"
He tilted his head slightly, the ball thing was weird but he didn't care enough to ask about it.
Bon turned and walked into the kitchen, working on my baked goods and such.
he took a moment to make coffee and walked out and gave her the cup. "uhm..on the house.." he stepped back and hurried off to the kitchen once more.

Abi's head tilted as she stared at Bon. "Thank you"
She didn't drink from it herself, but also kept it to the side to give to someone later.
Isfrid arrived, looking around cautiously before waving at Abi and sitting next to her. She didn't utter a word upon her arrival, staying silent.
Bon stood in the kitchen for a few moments then looked at his freezer. it was almost his lunch break.
the rabbit made his way to the door and opened it, walking in and looking around for something to eat. he had stuck something fresh in there not to long ago so it shouldn't be frozen.
Abi offered the red velvet cake and the meat pie to Isfrid, who turned away before eating both of them.
Isfrid nodded at Abi silently once done.
Abi glanced at the coffee. "Hey Isfrid, what do you think would happen if we gave Sylvie coffee- oh my god I left Sylvie alone again. Hopefully she doesn't learn how to make coffee"
his ear twitched, hearing the conversation. he shrugged and grabbed a small, bloody package of paper wrapped meat and set it on the table. he unwrapped it and breathed in, taking in the sent of the fresh kill from this morning. he smiled to himself and grabbed a knife, cutting it into smaller, bite sized bits.
Isfrid elbowed Abi silently.
Abi sighed. "Yeah, I know it was bad enough to deal with her when drunk. And high. I have no idea how she learns stuff so fast, it's quite impressive. Though, I'm sure both of us can agree that getting her on coffee may be a lot worse"
Isfrid's head tilted as she stared in the direction of the kitchen. She could sense something from her excellent sense of smell, but pretty much ignored it for now to keep listening to Abi joke about Sylvie.
he tossed one of the bits up and caught it then chewed.
he grabbed a bowl and scooped them in, grabbed a fork and a book he had and walked back out.
he walked to an empty corner and sat with his book and bowl of raw meat.
periodically, as he read, he'd stab a chunk and eat it.
Abi noticed Isfrid staring at the kitchen and nudged her slightly. "Isfrid, I know that look, but we are not spying on any more people for today. It's a half-vacation after all- maybe a forced one because a dragon in a hangover is possibly the worst thing Ive ever seen-" Abi rubbed her blindfold and sighed.
he glanced up at them, raising a brow like he was confused they were still there.
His fork was in the air, a chunk sticking off it, dripping red.
the rabbit's eyes studied them before looking back at his book and eating.
Isfrid seemed- oddly determined to stay.
Abi glanced at Isfrid and sighed. "Hey, sir, do you have any more of those meat pies?" She didn't even turn around towards the kitchen. She was, well, admittedly pretty tired from having to deal with something as large as a school bus having a hang over.
"Oui."
his reply was short. Bon closed his book, having finished his strange little snack and stood with the bowl.
"i can get you another." he said as he walked back to the kitchen.
he stuck the bowl in the sink and put the book on a self.
Abi passed her wallet to Isfrid and stood up. "I'm going to have to deal with the dragon because I fear she just got her hands on coffee- Isfrid will pay for it, she just doesn't like to talk so she uses sign language most of the time"
Isfrid glanced at the wallet and looked through it
Abi glanced back at Isfrid. "Also, don't buy any wine for Sylvie, though I'm sure you know that's a guarantee"
he came back out with a pie and set it on the counter and stared at them both.
he seemed like he wanted them gone, like they outstayed their welcome.
"thats fine, just please hurry, its almost closing time and im ready to leave."
oki doki! see ya in a bit//
"don't need to pay, you can just go."
he looked her up and down then walked back to the kitchen to clean the dishes and get ready to go home.

After he cleaned, he turned the lights off and locked up for the night.
He yawned and walked home.
Isfrid was pondering the entire thing. Bon was a rabbit and sold meat pies... But from her experiences in the tundra, rabbits were herbivores.
Maybe he was just different but Isfrid just wasn't used to seeing different things... She walked home but was planning to come back tomorrow
At least the food was good
When morning came he opened up the shop and went in, starting his baking for the day.
He hummed an old lullaby his mother sang him years ago and sweeped the floor.
He looked up and at her then back down at the floor he was cleaning.
"Welcome back." He said as he took the broom to the back and returned to the front. "

he tilted his head.
"i don't understand.." he looked around for a moment then grabbed a note pad and pen then gave it to her.
just now seeing this sorry//
"oh..yeah." he backed away and walked to the kitchen, coming back a minute or two later.
"normally, the meat in them is anything i can catch..mostly veal or..rabbit. found a squirrel once. but its mostly deer."
he didn't really answer, just stare.
Bon seemed to space out for a moment, his eyes glazed over a bit..till he blinked and stepped back a bit. "i don't eat the animals i catch, i only feed them to others."
oof, just now seeing i didn't say he put the pie in front of her my bad//
"im fine."
he sat on a chair that was against the wall and crossed his legs. "the pie is 3.00."
"does it matter?"
he looked down into his lap, starting to space again. he closed his eyes and sighed.
"ceder, there's a hunting ground there."
he opened his eyes.
"once more im fine."
he sighed and stood. "i have a guest coming soon so are you going to leave or strange my schedule out of me?"
it would be a bit till a man came into the little cafe, bon took him to the back.
the two talked for away.

after the rabbit had finished he sighed and put the meat hammer on the counter. he grabbed what was left of this guest of his and dragged it into the freezer.
Despite being outside, the smell of fresh blood caught Isfrid's attention. There was a bit of a heavy breathing noise as she took in a whiff, yet, her face didn't move at all whatsoever.
*What the-* Isfrid thought to herself, grabbing a scarf out of her pack and tying it around her mouth. Despite knowing that it was a bad idea, she decided to sit outside for a little bit longer, silently trying to decide what to do
he stuffed the body in the back and started to clean the floor. after the floor the hammer. after the hammer himself, changing into a fresh pair of clothes and throwing the old ones in an open flame fire he started outback.
Isfrid sighed to herself. She was so curious, and hungry. For someone her size, she had a large appetite, and decided to go back into the bakery to get more food. She awkwardly walked up to the counter, halfway leaning on it, this time with her scarf covering her mouth fully.
She would only ever talk if her face was covered.
he came back out into the main room and stopped when he saw her. "you again?"
he tilted his head, looking her up and down.
"th-"
he sighed and nodded, walking to the back. luckily for him he had already made plenty that day.
he came back moments later and gave them to her.
"9.00"
he stuck the money in the register and watched her leave.
He was started to get suspicious himself and really wasn't sure if he wanted her back in his cafe.
She'd go back home with the food this time, planning on returning the next day. Curiosity was a dangerous thing, but this was actually the safest way for her to get food.
She almost instantly regretted the sight once she got back home- Sylvie had been caffeinated. And something the size of a school bus on caffeine was not exactly the most pleasant sight, but my god was it funny
the next day he had not opened the cafe, it was a break day for him so instead he was out, at a store buying more supplies.
he hated running out of things so he normally bought more a day or two before he ran out.
he had cut the body from yesterday into pieces and took it home, he didn't want to mistake it for something else and accidentally feed it to someone.
haha thats okay, im gonna go for today see ya sometime after christmas.

Isfrid had seen the cafe was closed, and reluctantly, went to help Abi deal with Sylvie.
Isfrid thought that she was out of touch with the outside world at first, but then saw how Sylvie behaved and suddenly felt a lot better about herself than before. It was going to be a long day.
