From what I remember, Mettaton was a genderless ghost but had a more feminine personality(?), which can be seen at Metablooks house. Mettaton’s “body” (EX and that box), along with the voice, is considered to be Male. So Mettaton is genderless per-se, but is considered to be a Male character
