Bud used to be a sparkling water producer top of his game even, one day all of a sudden one by one his competitors water became un-drinkable this is when Darkwing knew something was up. He decided to do a stake out at one of Bud's competitors factories only to find Bud putting something in their tanks, in fear of being caught by Darkwing Bud backs up and accidentally falls into the vat and Darkiwng was unable to save him and thinking Bud died walked away and shut the case. But Bud didn't die, he became a liquid, he crawled out of the vat and threw up his organs. He has sworn against Darkwing ever since, although now that he's the Liguidator it's easier to market his water.
