So- plantings do indeed have a second wall of defence Incase anything manages to get to them through their deadly root-field. It’s a scream that’s loud enough to deafen just about anyone instantly within, at most, a one mile radius of them. The radius varies, and is usually determined by how far out the root field’s radius is. As the root field is 1/4 the size of the defending radius. Along with that, the sound can physically knock back objects. This is also proportional to the root field, as the root field is 1/2 the size of the knock-back radius. This alone, does seem dangerous, but not dangerous enough to be too concerned? Right? It’s just hearing loss and a little push, right? YOU’RE WRONG. the actual reason the scream is so loud has NOTHING TO DO WITH THOSE THINGS. that’s all just a useful bi-product. But no. What it’s actually doing is releasing spores that, when enough are introduced to the body, will become a parasite. This parasite is deadly, as you have no clue it’s there often, and

Your immune system can’t detect it. The reasoning for this, is once the parasitic flower starts to grow in you, the first thing it does is take over your immune system. Allowing for you to still take-down other diseases, but not the parasite itself. It will take nutrition and oxygen from your bloodstream, allowing for itself to grow. By the end of 3-4 months with this thing growing in you, It will then shut down ALL of your nervous system, and feast on your rotting body, though what makes it hard to identify if a person has died, is the fact that the parasite will then take control of your nervous system, and will make your body do basic functions such as walking, eating, breathing, and waste production. The only real sign of the fact that you’ve died and that it’s a parasite, it that your body will begin rotting at a quickened rate, and it can’t talk. Eventually, within about 3-4 months of you being dead, your body will’ ve .been completely decomposed, and the only thing left will be your skeleton

Which has been mummified by roots, and the parasitic flowers that will cover the root-structure. Luckily though, the flower it’s self cannot release spores, the only way to get the parasite is to eat the flower, or get the spores from a plantling.

ALSO- Forgot to mention- Plantlings are immune to getting the parasite. Though This is implied by the fact that they scream out enough spores to infect you, meaning they have BYFAR enough to infect themselves if they wheren’t immune, which, because they aren’t dead by the parasite, they are immune.
