LinkHaven't done one of these in a while so here you go
Recently your baby had gone missing police searched desperately trying to find the lost child while you put of missing poster weeks went by and nothing and each week felt horrible one day a knock came upon your door you opened it and the police were there the officer told you that they had finally found the baby you gently took the child they cooed you were so happy to finally have your baby back now that the child was safe the news was put out that the baby was safe and returned home the only reason they could give though is that the baby had simply wandered off you didn't mind this that much just happy to have your kid back over the week you started noticing something every now and then you would notice out of the very corner of your eye that the child's eyes would be different with blue Scalra and dots on its cheeks but everytime you turned the baby returned to normal the baby would act differently too you decided to to research 1/2

LinkAfter doing so you saw creatures called changelings which would replace a mortal being after learning what they looked like you went to confront your baby to see if it was one of these changelings or if it was really your child

She didn't wanna confront them too quickly so she only did suddle things and went apart from what she usually did that she knew made her child cry

The child when she did this didn't cry the child never cried actually which was strange on its own the thing child did when she did this was make baby noises
Soon enough she understood they weren't her child so one afternoon she picked up the child from their crib And kept them in their blanket gently "Sweetheart why do you never cry when you used to its making me worried" she said gently not exactly expecting a response
The child got a slightly panicked look like they did something very wrong and shifted uncomfortable and cooed some
She gently cradled them "aw no I'm not mad at you but its healthy to cry" she kissed their forehead
The child did what she wanted and started crying silently though

"O ok p put me down then.." after she had put them down they showed there true form they hunched over tears in there eyes "I I'm sorry please don't kick me out I just wanted a place to stay and you were so nice to me I didn't wanna leave I I don't know where your baby is just d don't hurt me" there tail looked a bit plump because of the milk that she had given it they looked rather fearful to lose this love more then the food and warmth which in the article mainly said that they wanted to stay mainly cause the person was a source of food and shelter but it did mention that the children were capable of wanting the love that they never got from there parents most didn't get it because when the human found out they didn't even ask questions just drove the child changeling outside to die or starve this one looked to be only 15
"Sweetheart I said I wouldn't, you're fine, what's your name?" She felt bad for them
They inhaled and exhaled with a slight wheeze like they had asthma "v vinmey.."
They made a small gasp and a squeal that was soft and hugged her back there tail swayed some
Through there sweater it felt like there back was very smooth with what felt like fur "so your my mam now?" That's what changelings called there mothers
They purred but suddenly pulled away "but what about your real baby.."
"Neither of us know where the baby is and I can't be mad at you for my loss"
Vinmey suddenly perked up with a saddned look "I i saw them getting carried away by a man but I didn't do anything to help I'm just some imposter that replaced your real child" they got tears in there eyes again
sad "you're just a child don't blame yourself, do you remember what he looked like?.."
They shifted in to the man they got down every single feature of the man turns out that this dude lived in her neighborhood
She quickly got her phone and called the police and gave a disruption and his address because she remembered it
Vinmey shifted back ashamed to even think of the guy the police quickly went to the guys door and arrested him carrying the baby out because they though vinmey was another child she had they just put the baby in there arms while they talked to her vinmey looked at the baby with wonder they sniffed at them cause well changeling

She was very happy to have her child back and while talking to them she tried her best not to cry and remain calm
Vinmey held the baby who cooed at her the child was a bit roughed up kinda dirty so vinmey being a cat like animal just started licking the dirt off
She was glad they were there still to take care of the child slightly and later she just cleaned the child up properly
She was thankful for them and enjoyed their company when she would have been alone and grieving
Vinmey was pretty curious about everything seeing how they still didn't know much about humans so they asked questions one time they asked what school was
She was happy to explain the answers to their questions including the one about school
They seemed excited about school wow "c can I go? I promise to hide my channeling features"
"Sure but it will take a while to get you enrolled since I don't have proof you're my child" smiled at them
She gently pat their head "when I get you in tell me if anyone is mean to you there ok?"
They watched the child silently sometimes still feeling bad that in the end she would have just taken the baby's place and left eventually
