It was really late in the night, yet Ridley was still chillin with Karma.
Mel came through the door, and he clearly had been drinking again.
Ridley made some sort of sarcastic joke on Mel's substance issues, which caused Mel to get heavily irritated.
He started to point out flaws of Ridley's own addictions, thus starting an arguement.
Nobody had begun screaming yet, but the tension was clearly getting heavier by the second.
"WHY do we have to do this right now, Mel?!" Ridley barked,
"You started it- dipshit!" Mel slurred his words in response.
Karma was already shaky, and the smell of alcohol only made it worse. She wanted to comfort the both of them but honestly she couldn’t even take care of herself. She pushed through and hesitantly came to Ridley’s side, whimpering out softly and reaching for his hand “H-Hey gu-guys do-don’t- I-it was just a j-joke..”
"You think I doooont... KNOW about my own issues, Ridley?!? I don't need you pointing it out!!" Mel ignored Karma's comment.
Ridley noticed her grabbing his hand and adopted a more firm tone with Mel,
"Mel-" He started.
"Maybe," Mel interjected, "Maybe if you treated ME the way you treat her-" He threw a finger pointing at Karma.
Ridley already knew what direction Mel was gonna go with that, and started to raise his voice to match Mel again,
"Then MAYBE you should stop whining so much about your damn family and I'd actually TOLERATE YOU!" Ridley snarked at him.
And Mel went dead silent. Bc I mean we all know what happened to his family 😭 mad L

She whimpered gently and squeezed his hand, sorta hiding behind Rid and biting her tongue. But her head was running with anxieties, poor babe began to hyperventilate quietly..the beginning of a panic attack. This environment felt hostile now and Rid just seemed like the correct answer to all of it. She hid herself in his chest and trembled “S-stop I-it pl-please..”

Ridley wrapped his arms around her, somewhat feeling bad.
He looked at Mel, waiting for him to respond.
Mel, did respond, but now he was LOUD
"YOU TOLD ME YOU WOULD BE THERE FOR ME WHEN I FELT TERRIBLE" Mel cried, "YOU PROMISED YOU WOULD HELP ME AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!"
"I promised that before you became a RAGING ALCOHOLIC" Ridley snapped back, "Just lower your voice for ****s sake!"
"I have HALF A MIND TO TAKE A HAMMER TO YOUR HEAD!" Mel was fuming, not rlly thinking of his words much

She just couldn’t take it anymore, those poor legs of hers gave in and she fell to the floor trying to cover her ears. She hated how pathetic she felt but god did that voice remind her of someone.. she wasn’t anxiously pulling out some of her hair with frustration “S-Stop it I-st-stop!!”
Ridley was somewhat caught off guard by Karma falling, but it only made him pissed off by Mel more,
"JUST SHUT UP YOU SELFISH ASSHOLE!" Ridley yelled at him before coming down to the floor with Karma and hugging her.
Mel watched Ridley for a second, feeling naseous now.
Maybe it was just he had a drink too many,
or the fact he couldnt stand to watch Ridley treat Karma like that without his mind racing with anger.
He had nothing against Karma but god was he always jealous..
Nonetheless, Ridley continued to comfort her, shooting a mean glare at Mel
She instantly took into his touch, he was so warm it was unfair. She looked back at Mel with a confused and a fear full look in her eyes, whimpering and struggling to find something to say. She hesitantly reached out for him, speaking softly “Y-You do-don’t have to be a-angry..”
Mel almost let up on his emotions for a second, but his mind took Karma's kindness as pity.
And that was the last thing he wanted from her. Pity meant he was weak enough to be felt bad for.
"You don't have to be here either. Yet here you stand ripping everything I have away from me." Mel said with a cold and stale tone starting to walk off to his bedroom.
He slammed the door, likely going to sleep to forget he even said any of that in the morning.
Ridley scoffed at Mel's response, just wishing he could have one night without Mel conplaining about something.
She gripped onto Ridley and turned back to him, it was so loud inside that head of hers. ‘Stupid girl, you shouldn’t be messing with things that aren’t yours..’ he step mom’s words resurfaced a memory, she was playing with Dante in the garden on day, then found her step mothers necklace. She was going to return it..but well Dante had other ideas. In the end she broke it. She didn’t want to end up breaking either Ridley or Mel..she felt selfish. “I-I’m so-sorry-“
"It's not your fault. Mel just needs to ****ing get over it at this point." He rolled his eyes, not at Karma but at the thought of Mel,
"I promised to keep him safe... so what? We've known each other since high school he should know I don't keep many of my promises." He went off on a tangent for a second before returning back to the moment and hugging Karma tighter,
"He can never hurt you anyways. He wouldn't. He's a pussy and I wouldn't let him anyways... so he can stay jealous."
She let out a gentle whimper of content. She felt spoiled sure but, why not enjoy it..she was deserving of it right? Her tail wagged a small bit and she nodded, resting her head on his shoulder. It was a little quieter now but she still felt she needed to relax “C-Can w-we go outside..”
"Sure.." Ridley lifted her up to her feet, rising as well.
He went to the door and opened it for her like such a gentleman 💀

Her body trembled gently, and struggled to relax but as soon as they got outside she was demanding this poor guy become her seat. She had that smug smile on her face as she pointed at th steps for him to sit. She playfully giggled and kissed his hand before she allowed herself to take a deep shaky breath “I-it’s nice and ch-chilly~”
Ridley sat like she said bc 🙄 ofc he would.
"Yeah, it is, isnt it?" He said but it sounded kinda genuine, and he gave her a smile 😱
She happily took the chance to sit down in his lap and take his arms to wrap around herself. She was warm, hot even, but it was a normal body temperature for a demon such as herself. She purred softly as she rubbed into him "Rid yo-youre so warmmmm~"
i have been trying for so long to get a response to this but no matter what i write its WAY too ooc for Ridley bc its literally me writing him to be

Maybe he grabs her face or something- do something in character of him to manipulate the babe, she's no stranger to it but she definitely won't recognize it
