Linki think it's fine to generate ideas, maybe inspo to create a character of a sona. tracing and claiming as your own art is NOT OKAY. if you can't come up with ideas just commission an artist or something, using ai is HARMFUL to real life artists.

Linki don't think it's ethical to use ai for art trades or custom trades either. NOT OKAY. if another artist is putting time and effort into a design for you then do the same.

im pretty sure everyone collectively agrees that ai isn't good at all on this site shared full of artists, it's the fact nobodys really expressed it. But, using it to make a character in my opinion can be unoriginal as hell because it just copies alot of artists characters
I 100% agree. I've used ai in instances when I'm struggling with character ideas; I've used it for color palettes, accessory ideas, mainly brainstorming. I believe that ai should be used as a tool to help artists, not hurt them
i will promise myself to bang my head fifteen times on the wall if I ever see someone using ai on FLIPANIM of all places

this how i feel except it extends to ALL generative ai, including writing (chatbots, "ideas", descriptions, recipes, all of it)
writers are artists, too, and gen ai is stealing from them with every roleplay chatbot made and essay written
even if it isnt outright stealing any forms of art, its not at ALL good for the environment, especially considering we do not need it at all

(also I agree with xenospiza. You cant just hate generative AI that only creates pictures, you need to hate all of it)
I know that there are ways to trace stuff on FA period. Either that or it’s replicating an ai style.
