John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He sent His one and only Son, that whosoever beleiveth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Do you know God? would you call yourself a follower of Him? do you have any questions you want answered? im not going to badger you or yell at you or do anything like that, i just want to see if anyone here has questions that i could maybe help with... if you dont want to see things like this or you aren't a Christian that is completely fine, im here to answer if you have questions, and remember, im not here to condemn or to tell you off for not believing in God, i just wanna help anyone who might be feeling lost or uncertain. Im just going to ask that if you dont agree with what im saying or if you have a different religion, or just dont like this kindof stuff in general, that is ok just please dont put any hate comments or arguments, we dont need to fight here :)
and yes i know this might be a shock to some but yes i am a Christian, and no im not gonna force my faith on anyone, thats not what this is, its just me asking an open question. youre free to answer it however you want and im not gonna disciminate
against any decisions, like ive said before, everyone has a choice, im simply inviting you to make this decision if you want to, again, im not going to say anything if you dont choose it, it is simply an invitation, not a command.
im goign to go to sleep now and i will see this and do my best to answer in the morning, anwyays, goodnight everyone!
i know ill probably loose a few followers over this, but i feel God said i should do this, and even if i help one person, that is worth more than all the follows and likes and all the features in the world.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matt. 10:29
for god so loved the world that he gave his only son so forever believed in him should not perish but have eternal life :>
i said it in the simple version that i remember
thank you for talking about religion in a not-up-in-your-face way
i go to a christian church but consider myself atheist
i wanna ask questions but i feel like they would be really offensive
ok
so like, from the beginning, when adam and eve and the garden of eden were created, God created the tree of knowledge and evil (i think thats the name of it? kinda forget). anyways, God told adam and eve that they could eat any fruit in the garden, as long as it wasnt from this tree. but satan tricked eve into eating it, and eve gave the fruit to adam, who also ate it, and this was the first sin. in my church, sin is viewed is something that is entirely our fault. but God created the universe, so therefore he created the tree of knowledge and evil. he could've not created it, but instead he kinda just placed it there like a bait. so like, didnt God sorta create sin?
Actually, it wasn't Satan who tricked Adam and Eve into eating of the fruit. According to Genesis 3:1 (NASB version), "Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made". Meaning that the serpent was a separate entity from Satan. But to answer your question, God could not have created sin because He is a perfect God. He created the tree of the knowledge of good and evil to give man and woman free will. If He did not place the tree in the garden, Adam and Eve would not have a choice of obedience and therefore would not have had free will. And God told Adam and Eve to not eat of the fruit from that tree, but since they did anyway, they were exercising free will.
1. the way i was taught it was that satan took the form of the serpent
2. ok but if the tree of knowledge and evil was never created, then adam and eve wouldnt have known that it couldve existed. they couldve lived their life happily, and they would never want to eat the fruit from the tree of good and evil because they wouldnt have known about it, if that makes sense.
yes, but God is a just God, and He gave us the choice. it wouldnt be right to force people to do good. God lets us choose what we want, of course He's sad when we don't choose Him but He is always just, and because He's just He created the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
would you rather have the choice or be forced into something?
yes they could have been happy if there was no tree, but God gave them he choice to choose happiness with Him or sin and death, and they chose sin and death instead.
is this confusing-
i feel like i might be goofing it up a bit-
sry
oof its fine
i think that its less just to allow free will and punish humans with the most severe punishment because they were tricked into sin then it is to not make sin an option.
i mean, at the end of the day, i dont really care what anyone believes in, as long as they arent forcing their beliefs onto other people. i really dont want to continue the convo because i dont want to have an awkward tension between us, and i really, really dont wanna start any drama about such a sensitive topic. thank you again for being really respectful towards my beliefs, and i hope your relationship with God keeps growing, even if i dont know him personally.
well, technecally God did warn them, and He is a just God, so even though He loves us, He has to punish us because He is just and holy. if you think about it, humans chose that fate because they thought their way is bettetr than God's, but God loves us so much that He sent His Son, and now we can be sinless again! :D
i get it, and i dont want any drama either lol
anyways i thank you for being cool about it too, some people would flip out at this XD
