(Ursus is cutting it down short) Where they're found: American black bears can be found all across North America. Extra Info: Black bears are covered in thick black hair and have round ears, long snouts and short tails. After they reach sexual maturity, females mate every other year and often have twins. The black bear diet consists of small mammals, grasses, flowers, fruit, grubs and in Weights/Names: Males are referred to as "boars" and can reach a weight of up to 300 pounds.
