Not to be that guy, but ouija relies on your body's movements, known as the ideomotor effect.

We all move very very slightly. Ouija uses the little movements to move the planchette. That's why you're supposed to ask questions you already know the answers to. In the game it's to "make sure you're contacting a specific person" but really it's so your body can move the planchette to the right place, making it look like there are spirits. Sorry, I know too much about this stuff.
