Without too much spoilers for the comic..when the garden was abandoned it was because it was ambushed basically..? She took out a lot of people that day and ended up cursing a good chunk of those people ( luckily in their time as the comic takes place, there’s like…1 for every 1,000 cursed people now and they’ve mostly died out) so the entire garden looks like it was taken over by a storm and abandoned,,lots of briars and broken objects that pandora cherished and when the cult started gaining more and more followers they started going to the island to just..”be in her presence” as they said and brought back things they thought we’re connected to her All of the items are cursed though. Like..100% cursed because of how quickly she had to make a decision to do that

I was hoping it’d be a little unsettling 🙏
