Can someone genuinely tell me what a system is other than the definition? like what its like? how it effects everyday life.. not trying to be offensive or anything
this is gonna be messy, but i had a system friend once! basically, the person had multiple personalities, / people inside their head. the main guy is who we'd talk to most of the time, but when another was 'fronting' (in charge of his body) it was like talking to an entirely different person. because it was!
he had a few in there! all with names, personalities, and typing styles that were recognizable. not to mention their own, spit up memories of his life.
also. once he had switched to an alter, he wouldn't know who we were if we hadn't interacted w that SPECIFIC alter before. you could be friends with just (redacted,) but you could also be friends w his alters!
yes, it was at least like that for my friend. i haven't done too much research on the disorder itself, but i was around this guy alot .. n came to understand what it was like in my own way.
Tbh, I wouldn't really trust creatorsans' definition on DID but at the same time I can't really speak about because it's something I don't experience but I think @ROANDER seems educated enough on it. I would ask them
i didnt give a definition of DID i gave a definition of systemhood. do not confuse the two because a description of DID is much more complex and i'd be referencing the DSM V if i were to describe DID
i described plural systems as a whole not specifically disordered systems
