My favorite OC is named Ares... So he was born in MoonLane. He loved his mother but never got a long with his father. His father would always talk about how being gay was a sin, and at the time, Ares didn’t know what he was but he felt like it shouldn’t be a sin. Eventually one night came, his mother was out for work and his father in his room, the door shut. Ares had woken up from a bad dream and wanted to sleep in his parents bedroom, but when he opened the door he found his father watching not so child friendly content,, So When his father caught him, he threatened Ares that if he told his mother that he’d do something to hurt him. Anytime Ares made his father upset, he’d be punished in someway. He grew deeply afraid of his dad and made a promise that he’d become a cop just so he could lock his father in jail and often hid away in his school. But a rumor started spreading around that there was a student who sexually assaulted another one. When he heard this, he began to work on the case,

As a victim he wanted to know just why someone would do that kind of thing to someone else, but upon further investigation, the man who was accused of sexually assaulting a classmate was actually an underclass man. He stalked this underclass man and found out the full story, The mans name was Haru and he was actually the victim, not the girl. He was in a toxic relationship with a girl named Bee. Haru didn’t really like her but he was in love with his best friend, who was in love with someone else, so he tried dating to move on. Unfortunately, when Haru tried to break up with Bee, she harassed him and started the rumor that he had been inappropriate to her. After finding out the truth, Ares began watching Haru, not for information but just to get to know him. And one day while watching Haru cry in a stair hall, Ares finally tried to introduce himself, but it didn’t come out well. He started by saying that they could relate to each other, which, of course made Haru upset

Haru told Ares to never talk to him again and that he knew nothing about him, then ran away. Ares knew he was right but he still felt a sort of longing to get to know him. He eventually stopped watching Haru as per his request, but of course fate had another plan. As it turns out, The woman Haru was really in love with was also friends with Ares. They all met by surprise and Yuma (the girl) wanted to make things right between the two. And eventually, after Ares told Haru about his past, he understood what Ares had meant when they first met. From then, they promised to protect each other. Ares would often stay over at Haru’s house to escape his father, and Ares would shoo off bullies from Haru. Ares had already come to the conclusion when they first met; he was in love with Haru. But Ares knew that Haru would never love him back, because he was in love with someone else, so he buried his feelings and treated him as a friend, and not a crush.

He did however tell his mom, she was very supportive. But when his father found out, he was kicked out of the house for being a “sinner” and even got in a fight with Ares’s mother for supporting him. Ares ran away and stayed with Haru for the night. He never told Haru why though, but the next day was Ares’s graduation, so he of course supported him. (Reminder that ares is 1 year older so he’d graduate 1 year before Haru) The next day, after the end of school, they met up and Ares told Haru about his feelings. He felt that he loved him, but he didn’t want to be reminded of his father’s words, and felt like his love would only burden Haru. Haru, said he wasn’t in love with Ares, but that he would always want to be by his side. This of course crushed Ares, he didn’t want to be with Haru, but he couldn’t bare being in love with someone that will never love him in the same way, so he told Haru that he wouldn’t see Ares for a while, because he’d be in law school.

In truth, Ares slipped away, saying he wanted to say goodbye to everyone, but he’d be back. This was a lie. Haru tried finding Ares but it turned out he had already left. Haru and Yuma waited for their friend until their graduation, but nothing. Haru remembered a conversation that Ares and him had had the night before he left Something along the lines of; “but what if I become exactly who I wanted to be but it still isn’t enough? What if I arrest my father, but that’s it. Ill have nothing left, all I’ve even known is my hatred, I don’t know who I am past that. What if i figure out who I am, and I hate it. What should I do if I wanted to disappear, and never come back” Remembering this, Haru had made the conclusion that that is exactly what had happened, and blamed himself for it. He responded; “Don’t kill yourself, Ares. If you end up losing meaning in life, come find me and I’ll give you something to live for.” These words made Haru feel like he dismissed those feelings

After a while, Haru, Yuma, And Karu (he’s important, just not now) had all come to the conclusion that either Ares had taken his life or had left the group behind. Haru and Yuma opened up a cafe together, Haru a chef and bartender, Yuma a baker. Yuma had began dating Karu and Haru gave up on those feelings for her, despite them Stil being there. Somewhere not too far away… Ares had arrested his father, he won and his mother divorced her husband as well. What should have been Ares’s happiest moments only felt hallow and empty. He was right, he only wanted to be a cop just to arrest his father, now that it’s done, his life didn’t matter. His friends were all gone, but he ran the police department. He began drinking and sleeping with women to hope that the loneliness would go away, but it never did, It only got worse. He came to terms with the fact that he didn’t love women, it hurt for him to accept. But in the back of his mind, he knew Haru was doing better than him, and moved-

Passed his trauma, turning into fuel for his future. Ares felt envy watching Haru, feeling like he was nothing like him at all. Haru learned to accept himself while Ares wanted to kill the side of him that he hated, it turned out that they were never a like at all.. but, the thought of Haru healing brought warmth to Ares’s heart. He only wanted Haru to be happy, that’s why Ares wished for Yuma and him to be together, because he only wanted the one he loved most to be happy, even if he couldn’t give him that source of happiness. But, it hurt to accept. After a while, the thought of his friends were the only thing that made him feel something other than hatred

One night, Ares had come to a conclusion, he’d end his life. He had nothing at this point. He began with getting drunk, so he wouldn’t feel a thing. However, while drunk, he remembered Harus words; “I’ll give you a new purpose in life” And unconsciously stumbled to the restaurant / cafe that Haru and Yuma owned. It was pouring rain and Ares was wearing a black hoodie with jeans, a truly ugly sight. He sat next to the back door of the restaurant and sobbed, until… Haru has to take out the trash :3 At first, when Haru stepped outside, he didn’t recognize Ares. But Ares recognized Haru, looking up at him, both of them had changed their appearance quite a bit (we skipped a few chapters (the chapters where they literally die then get revived)) but seeing his face, Haru recognized Ares immediately. But, he also realized he was drunk, so he had no idea how to react, but he was still overjoyed
