This looks great!! Could you --shine a light-- (i'm so sorry) on how you do some of your backgrounds?? That's something I can't seem to do right and it's bugging me-

It depends on the background, but generally speaking I do a quick sketch (thumbnail) of the character and how they will be placed in the anim. I then look up references to see how the structures would look like realistically, although I tend to tweak it a bit depending on how the character looks. I don't copy the refs though, and instead just loosely use aspects from them. I personally just eye which colors I want to use, although some of my friends pick specific colors from real images. I always try and make the background colors contrast with the character to help them stand out, and bring hints of the character's colors into it to help tie it together. Not as much on anims as traditional art though, since I simply don't spend as much time on anims :,) That's pretty much it, I might be missing something but I'm too tired to think of it rn, lmao

Y-you just made me so happy-- I'm not very skilled with backgrounds, mainly just because I havent worked at them as much as general character drawing and stuff. I have a hard time drawing realistic backgrounds, but that really helps. That certainly --brightened up-- my evening >:)
