Emily growled softly to herself. Why did the villains always have to have a long boring speech? She launched herself at Amethyst- er, Living Shadow, controlling Amethyst, with a ferocious roar. A bolt of electricity shot down and struck her squarely in the chest, sending a shock through her. The tasted seawater, her claws becoming hooked and sharper. Her scales were fireproof- she could feel them hardening to accommodate. Her wings grew larger, but still not as large as a sky wreaker. Poisonous plants sprouted along her back-- they could shoot out acid poisonous enough to kill a dragon. Her mouth tingled with the sensation of lightning. She felt her scales change color-- with her new, sharpened, pointed, and decidedly larger scales were all purple-- the color of her eyes when she was a human. Her eyes hardened. That was long ago. She felt herself change inside. This bastard Living Shadow thought her could hurt her friend? Hah! He would never defeat her. She's fought this mangy piece of dragon dirt before-- an
and won. She wasn't the dragon she used to be. She wasn't the rainbow-colored, flower-speckled, starry-eyed child she used to be. She had killed before. She had watched as her loved ones died, she'd died herself, even. She wasn't going to stand for this dragon harming her friend. She screeched with all her might, and in that instant, time resumed as her tail, not covered in sharp, gleaming crystals, plunged towards Amethyst's heart, as Amethyst had once done to Emily.
Amethyst screeched, dodging out of the way and leaping onto Emily's back, then shrinking away as the poisonous plants blasted her with hissing acid. She clawed at her eyes, where she'd been sprayed. She snarled and leaped at Emily, then landed in the dust as Emily dodged. She leapt onto Amethyst, Electricity exploding out of her mouth.
