I based the parts of the animation off of following fragments of the book: Blinking Mono Eye: "David lay quite still in the darkness, listening to the men's low muttering." Red Line Thing: (just because I wanted too.) The Room: "In his mind's eye David saw once again the grey room he knew so well." Squinty Eyeball Thing: "He saw the man and was conscious, somewhere in the pit of his stomach, of the hard knot of hate that was growing."
