also, when you do a subtle advertise, with context, like, “I did that too!” (and links to what they did), or “this makes me feel” (and then links to a face they drew), it’s acknowledging that people will dislike it when you advertise, but doing it in a way, where you won’t get hate, but still get the benefits of advertising, and is even worse in some ways

Leaving a ref for something that requires a ref, or something of that sort, is no advertising, but when someone posts something of theirs on an anim, that is unrelated, it is advertising
if they ask for a ref, you can give a ref, if they make an anim saying, “advertise here!” they are cool with people advertising there (no duh), but if nobody asks them to, and someone does something like, “I made the same thing!” Or “here is my gift for you” and links to an anim of a present, that is advertising
