Ian took the walk of shame as he made his way to his house.
He was terrified, dread in his stomach.
He had no other option but than to tell her. He couldn't just keep this secret.
Plus, he looked terrible.
He clothes were wrinkled and not well kept together, it's obvious upon first glance he'd been drinking again.
Another thing that didn't help his case was the fact he was returning home at 11 AM after being gone since 7 PM the night prior.
He slowly unlocked the door and opened it, hoping just maybe Sunset would be asleep so he could chicken out.
Sunset was on the couch, watching TV, her hand shaking as she held the remote, reacting as soon as she heard the door unlock.
"Ian??? Ian, is that you, honey??"
She turned around, visible relief showing on her face.
"Oh, my goodness, darling, you had me so WORRIED!!!"
"I... I'm sorry honey." He had a clear look of shame on his face. Though, it could've been mistaken the reason was simply just because he was drinking,
"I... uh..." He couldn't get the right words out. This was going to be terrible.
"....I understand if you were drinking again...b..but is there anything bad that happened to you?"
He hesitated, but then tried to make himself say it.
"Sunset... I-I messed up. I-"
He sighed, struggling to get the courage.
He threw his head into his hands and exclaimed,
"Oh, god-! This is *exactly* why I stopped drinking! This was my biggest fear... ****..."
"Ian, honey. What did you do? You can always tell me, no matter what."

He couldn't flat out say it no matter how much he wanted to just get it over with.
"I-I didn't mean to! I don't even remember *anything* after 8 PM- I didn't want to hurt you!" He kept going on.
".....honey...did...did you..." She said the last part in a low tone as her heart shattered in a million pieces. "....cheat...on me?...."
Skipper just threw her hand over their mouth. NO FVCKING WAY...
"...I..." His voice wavered, then he let a painful silence fill the air.
He had nothing more to say. He could barely believe it himself. He never thought he was THAT kind of guy... and he had kids, too.
".........." She just stood there, trembling, before retreating to their room. No, no, no no no no no. Not again. Not again. Not again not again not again.
"Sunset- Wait!" He followed her. He had no idea what was gonna come of this and he was horrified. He couldn't lose her.

"No- Sunset, PLEASE!" His voice shook as he called to her from outside the door, "I was drunk I-I didn't mean to-!"
"I NEED A BREAK, OKAY?! PLEASE. PLEASE. YOU HAVE BEEN DRINKING, FIGHTING, ALL THAT SHIT, AND NOW YOU CHEAT. SO PLEASE, GIVE ME AT LEAST A WEEK OF FVCKING PEACE. OR DO YOU WANT TO MAKE IT WORSE, HUH, IAN?!"
"I'm not TRYING to make it worse!" He cried out, "I-I'm sorry I've been trying to stay sober j-just give me ONE more ****ing chance before you shut me out! PLEASE!"
"LISTEN. EITHER WE TAKE A BREAK FOR A BIT, OR WE BREAK UP FOREVER. ONE OF TWO CHOICES, IAN, THIS JUST CAN'T BE...FORGIVEN THAT EASILY!!! I SAVED YOU, I MARRIED YOU, I GAVE YOU YOUR CHILDREN, I FORGAVE YOU TIME AND TIME AGAIN, AND YOU CHEATED!!!! SO YEAH, I NEED A BREAK."
He had his head against the door, burying his face in his arms.
"I'm sorry..." His tone became more quit and.. pathetic. He sounded on the verge of sobbing, "I don't want to be away from you I j-just want to fix this... please Sunset. I-I love you so much!"
"....I love you too, but....I...I don't know how much more I can TAKE, Ian...you...you're hurting me..." She started sobbing.

"I promise I'm n-not trying to!" Ian couldn't handle the sound of her crying, it made him start crying too.
He spoke again through choked sobs, "One more chance... I-I'm begging you..."

At this point, he was full on sobbing, he gasped for air as he tried to continue,

She then sobs more, her voice being barely distinctible in her tears. "Then...then please...just...love me...that's all I want...is for you to love me..."

"I do love you... so much..." Ian lowered his voice, "I-I just can't... stay sober..."
"Then maybe, we shouldn't be married. We could still date, but...you need to learn to stay sober before we continue our marriage. Do you hear me?"
"A-Are you saying you want a divorce...?" Ian's tone became noticeably nervous
