just going to answer again but way more simple :,)
1. switching is very complicated and is like pulling a lever down while pushing another one up at the same time, at some point they will both be in the middle and eventually will be opposite from where they started.
2. no, alters exist when they are not fronting. we and many other systems have an internal world.
