OKAY SO i'll just jump right into this if you are going to write a female character PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. DARLINGS💜💜 I have seen people do this, and hell even well known companies and authors, write the overused "badass woman" stereotype this is honestly kind of an insult because they're so... basic and such a trope. The kind of character who is so ****ing perfect and badass that they can take down 5 huge dudes, bUT if they have a m a l e love interest will suddenly be weak and defenceless and need to have her M A N come to the rescue, um, n o t h a n k s , l o v e. or the kind that knows how to backtalk anything and can easily make fun of someone in a "badass" way, but these characters are usually so ****ing badly written, like Lilith from Borderlands for example, her writing is HORRENDOUS and she's supposed to be the strong female character but shes INSUFFERABLE I can't stand even listening to her

she's so high and mighty, talks about how she's a S I R E N all the time, oh did you know she's a siren? well she's a siren! wow I'm a siren! I'm so cool and strong! IT'S ANNOYING you see this a lot in "strong female characters" where they can't stop talking about how badass and strong they are and it makes them insufferable, why would you make a character who's supposed to empower women and make them so terrible everyone hates them? You wanna know something that would actually empower women? Make them strong, give them flaws because they're HUMAN, make them **** up sometimes, make them humble yet confident, give them AN ACTUAL PERSONALITY BESIDE "STRONG" anyway thats my ted talk
