Some people freeze up when they're uncomfortable/panicked, and if you couldn't verbalize your discomfort that's not your fault. She should know, as a teenager, that that's not okay to do. If you don't want to tell your parents then okay, yes, that would probably be very awkward and hard to do. Just make sure she gets the message that that isn't okay.
