“You’re new to this type of stuff, aren’t you?” I asked. The newer person was silent before answering. “Yes, well, I’m new to this place. I don’t know what any of this means.” They gestured to the chess pieces, puppets, and to the sketches of my creations. I chuckle. “Original characters are your creations. They can be controlled by their creators, like puppets,” I glanced at the puppet next to a sketch before continuing, “or chess pieces.” “And?” The new person was getting a little impatient. What is up with new people? “And when you get out of control, they get out of control. It might even cause them to do many things that you would regret letting them do.” “Like what?” “Like harming each other, or harming other creations from other people. Sometimes they end up getting killed.”
