The rings surrounding his body sometimes randomly tighten until they completely sever that part of the body from the main body. This includes his bottom jaw, head, front and back feet and his horns are always like that. His actual insides are made from one solid material so they pull themselves back together to reform him.

oh and I forgot, his whole tail is covered in rings so his tail can be separated into 8 parts
