Oh, she’s not dead yet, but she’s almost there. I have a very old dog named Maggie, and I’ve had her since I was 3. She’s a bit overweight, and she’s close to the end of the rainbow bridge. I was scared to death over the fact that the city I live in was in the path of hurricane Ilda, but it miraculously swerved out of the way. Unfortunately, there comes the sad part. When Maggie eventually does die, that leaves my much younger dog, Chloe, all alone. She’ll have nobody to play with when she’s home alone, she’ll have nobody to protect her when she’s scared, and she’ll probably not even know that Maggie is dead, and I’ll see her wandering around the house, looking for her best friend, and that hurts my heart the most.
