Basic plot: Veronica Sawyer lives in a highschool in 1989. She joins the three Heathers, Heather Chandler the almighty, Heather Duke, the lackey, and Heather MacNmara, the nice one. Two jocks named Kurt and Ram start bullying the new kid and he fights them. His name is JD. The Heathers get Veronica to forge a letter to her best friend Martha from Ram to his homecoming party. Veronica ends up missing Chandler off, so she goes and (while drunk) bangs JD. Next morning JD kills Chandler. Because of the fame her death got, Ram and Kurt decide to (also while drunk) hump Veronica(Blue). nothing happened, but they spread a rumor there was a threeway. JD decides to kill them for it. Kurt and Rams deaths also get fame for it, and MacNmara reveals she has been having thoughts of suicide. (The other three deaths were faked as suicide.) Meanwhile Martha says she doesn't think they did commit suicide, and to prevent her from being Jds next target, Veronica basically breaks her heart. Deciding she's had enough of JD-

She breaks up with him. He ends up breaking into her house saying he's gonna blow up the school, and to throw him off she pretends to hang herself. She chases after him, end up shooting him, and to prevent no one from getting hurt she takes the bomb outside. JD turns out to be alive, takes the bomb from her, and saves her life. There's a nice reprise and happy ending but you can listen to the soundtrack now without confusion XD
