Velvet is what's called a nargacuga. Her mother was mostly likely killed by other predators. So she sits alone at her nest, still believing her mother will come to bring her food.

Emoshi:*they climbed into the next*......Hello there.......*she put on a smile*
emoshi:*he brought out their backpack and took out a pb&j sandwhich*
Emoshi: this is food..........well I'm not sure what your deit is but here.....*puts the sandwhich down*
Velvet: * sniffs the sandwich, takes a bite before spitting it out*
Emoshi: don't like huh?......*looks around*.......Can you show me your teeth?
Velvet: ? * opens her mouth, showing a row of small, sharp teeth*
Emoshi: that enough, thanks.........*meat eater......* I'll be back! *she climed down to the river*
