Ok- so like- Jarchien’s a plant, and he roots himself. Well, when he roots himself, hit roots cover a circular area around him.

But here’s the thing- he’s a species, in which, when rooting themselves, and falling asleep, their roots act as a defence mechanism, while also allowing for nutritional gain because they’d be sleeping at night.

So what happens it- well- an unusual object- aka anything that moves in the “Bubble” that surrounds Jarchien- gets snatched underground by the roots. If it ‘s a big object, roots from deeper in the ground will burst the ground open, and draw said object underground.

Well. If said object is a living organism. The roots will rip apart said organism and use the organism body, and bones as nutrition. And will basically “eat” the entirely of said organism in seconds.

Well... Jarchien falls asleep outside. His father goes looking for him. Approaches him. And steps into his roots unknowingly. Then gets dragged under, and torn to shreds, being used for nutrition. Then his mother goes looking for her husband, and falls into a similar fate. Next thing Jarchien knows, is that he woke up, and his parents are missing.

Then, later on, after Jarchien is raised by some... people... and learns more about what his species can do. he decides to continue living in that house... and one day while digging up dirt for a garden. He find’s his mother’s shirt. And he almost instantaneously realizes what this means. He takes the shirt and stops digging...

Well. Guess what. Ever wonder why his shirt looks weird on him? Why would he buy a purple shirt? The answer: he’s just wearing his mother’s shirt, so he’ll never forget them.

All I will say is For Jarchien White petals are formed by eating plants. Yellow petals are formed through photosynthesis And red petals are formed through eating meat. He rips out all of his white petals, because before he found out the truth, he had quite a lot of white petals
