Linksomeone made a post about how self diagnosing is wrong and not valid and I responded with
"I get what you're saying, but a lot of time professionals opinions are too expensive to get. Self diagnosis is also the first step to getting an actual diagnosis. I think a good video on the topic is the video "TikTok Gave Me Autism: The Politics of Self Diagnosis" by Alexander Avila. It helped me understand more about it all."
And I don't know how they'd react like I'm scared of challenging people
agree with you though
people just can't handle the fact most people can't get a actual diagnosis in the first place, I don't self diagnose but I do take mental notes on certain things and keep it in mind as a possibility of having it.
Yeah, again I watched the video I mentioned and was like wow. Hey maybe I have autism, and don't need to get that second opinion that's over 1800 dollars. Before I was diagnosed with ADHD I wouldn't say I had it because I viewed my own research and opinion as "not good enough" compared to a professional.
