Linkwell, i guess what i did was focus on one part of the body - usually the face, so there's less to animate. i recommend trying the animate the eyes and ears first (that's kind of all i do right now anyway haha).
also, you should look at other people's animations, and click on the animation to reveal how the frame look s like at that moment. You may be able to interpret those things into your animations!
This may not be that helpful to you, but that's kind of how i started, i guess.
