She paused, looking over at him. “ w-what are you saying?”

She walked over, hugging him. “ what’s on your mind, dear?”

She sighed. “ I know dear.. but your just doing your job. And you’re not a horrible husband. I think you’re a great husband.”

She smiled, “ why not I make you something to eat? It might help you calm down.”

Cotton smiled, laying on the arm of the couch. Spearmint walked into the kitchen.

Cotton looked over at him, getting up and walking over. ‘ you alright there bud?’

Cotton stepped back. ‘ Vivian?’

Spearmint came in with some egg rolls. Ivy soon came down the stairs smelling the egg rolls.

Applemint constantly looked around the abyss. Making sure the other souls felt it too. Spearmint and ivy seemed normal. Until ivy popped a question. “ hey mom, do you.. know why we don’t has much magic as others do?”

Ivy sighed. “ I know dad, it’s just. Me and mom have half the regular magic then the rest of our class.” Spearmint seemed nervous.

Ivy looked over at spearmint. “ mom?” Spearmint jumped slightly. “ uh... it’s just within the family tree.” That was a clear lie. Mechamints magic was normal, and so was applemints.

Ivy sighed. “ alright mom” spearmint sighed in relief, continuing eating.

Applemint was pacing. Looking around for any abnormal entities.

Applemint ears twitch, before walking over. “ pressure came upon the abyss. Is this normal?”

Applemint paused. “ wait what?”

Applemint huffed. “ did you cause the incident? Before spearmint lost her wings?”

Applemint growled. “ she hasn’t told you what exactly happened has she?”

Applemint paused. “ if I could I would visibly show you what happened through my eyes.”

Applemint huffed. Sitting down.

Applemint sighed, reluctantly placing a paw on the mirror. The whole mirror was black for a moment. Until it opened up with the sight of trees looming over.

The past applemint sat up, staring at a teenage spearmint, having a cloak with a bright red dragon creature on her shoulder. The teenager looked over at the screen. “ get up apple! I felt it again. We need to get over there before it destroys anymore towns.”

The applemint in the mirror looked over at mechamint, he was wounded in the side. His ear was withered and almost char black. “ dad is getting worse, we need to act fast. “ spearmint said. A unfamiliar Dutch sighed. “ dear you go on ahead, me and your father will catch up.” Spearmint looked over at her. Sighing. “ yes mother.”

She seemed to look a lot like spearmint, but her eyes were a crimson red. Spearmint and applemint ran up a dirt path into a clearly where in the distance a town. There was screaming in the distance as well. Spearmint growled. “ it’s already there, lets get going!”

They entered the town only for applemint to be crashed into a building by a flash of blue.

Spearmint crashed into the figure, snarling.

Applemint just sat there, terrified and stuck.

Applemint tried to get her arm out of the rubble, before staring into the white eyes. Suddenly the Dutchess from before attempted to attack the blue strike from behind. Spear in hand.

Spearmint ran towards them. Trying to stop her mother from dying.

She stopped herself, staring at the lifeless body.

Mechamint stared from afar, coughing.Spearmint growled. Running towards them. Applemint cried, grabbing the muzzle trying to stop the jaws.

Spearmint slammed into it, tears pricked her eyes as her eyes were shiny a turquoise blue.

Spearmint stared at the green one, before looking around.

Spearmint stared at applemint, running towards her.

Spearmint looked over at mechamint, before sighing. “ sorry mom, but this sacrifice needs to be made.” She dragged applemint and mechamint and propped them up against the wall, each giving them a stone their color.

Spearmint closed her eyes, her hands glowing.

Spearmint opened her eyes, green fire appearing out of the ground.

Spearmint spread her wings, she was in a great deal of pain.

Spearmint’s wings were fading at this time.

The air seemed to thicken as it got closer.

She was growing weak but kept pushing on, determined to finish the ritual.

Once the ritual was complete, her wings had simply vanished. She collapsed.

She coughed, half her magic had disappeared.

Applemint took her hand off the mirror.

Applemint looked over at Vivian.

Applemint went soul mode and scattered amongst the abyss.

Applemint seemed to be still terrified of the creature.

Applemint stared from afar.

Applemint jumped

Applemint looked around, that’s when she decided to warm spearmint,

Spearmint stared at cotton in disbelief, before rushing to find Azula.

Spearmint slammed into the door.

Spearmint started explaining about what’s happening in the abyss, she was afraid to loose more of her family. Especially of what happened before..

Spearmint looked up at her, before nodding.

Spearmint nodded. “ o-ok...”

Spearmint froze. “ does this depend on what memories he needs?”

Spearmint sighed. “ she...didn’t tell me?... I think it’s what applemint showed him.”

Spearmint sighed. “ I-I think I know what she showed him...”

Spearmint looked up at her, for a brief second she looked like her teenage self. “ the devouring incident..”

Her ears pinned back.

She looked away, the memory of the incident playing through her mind like a record, her mother’s death... her sacrifice.

She hugged back tightly. Applemint was staring at Vivian worriedly.

Applemint stared at him. “ this has happened before, correct?”

Applemint nodded. “ alright.”

She sighed. “ I can say dad is going to be at work for a while”

She smiled. “ I think gold would be best, they seem really close.”

She paused. “ yes?”

She froze, rubbing her arm. Before walking out.

Her ears pinned back, smiling as she kept walking.

She smiled, “ good afternoon to you as well, Golden.”

She nodded “ yes golden, you must be excited to be with the princess for a couple days. Are you not?”

She chuckled, “ I trust you will do your best, Golden.” She smiled.

She smiled. “ hello dexter”

She picked him up. “ you remind me a lot like someone I used to have”

She sighed, petting dexter as she walked down the hall. Ivy was in the library a stack of books next to her.

She jumped. “ oh hey dexter!” She smiled, she had a book on deformities. She’s trying to figure why she and her mother have less magic than her class.

Ivy picked him up and put him on her lap. “ lets see... so there’s no magic deformities...”

Ivy sighed. “ what you think dexter? Got any ideas on what could cause my mom and I this magic problem?”

Ivy jumped. “ Gold look at this.”

Ivy read through quickly. “ the sacrifice to save two lives will drain half the magic of the user, and give away its wings as well. Can only be performed by a dutchess.”

Cotton ran into the room. Ivy was confused. “ if mom did this why did it happen to me as well?”

Cotton explain to dexter the incident. But she’s still unsure why it happened to ivy. Ivy was really confused. “ wait isn’t this a dark magic spell?”

Ivy huffed. “ death note just fixed my code, there’s no possible way it would affect my magic. And if mom did this is shouldn’t effect her offspring as well.”

Cotton shook her head.

She smiled. “ i’m Fine dexter.” She stared at the ritual.

She nodded, “ ok” she picked up the book. Saving the page before putting it in her bag.

She smiled, walking next to gold.

She sighed. looking around at all the animals.

She stopped, walking over to the door.

She curiously put her paw on the print. “ where’s the nob...?”

Her eyes widened, before walking in.

She looked around, her footsteps echoing.

She walked over to the door, seeing if she could open it.

She pushed open door, her wings ready Incase she fell.

She looked down, holding on to the door frame.

She leaned forward a bit before her gripped slip. “ wait!-“

She tried to fly to stop her from crashing down.

She sighed. “ t-thank you uh... sir?”

She nodded. “ I-ivy.”

She shook her head. “ I kinda stumbled upon a door, went through and...here I am- wait did you say inkwell?”

She grinned. “ mom used to live here! I know them! Well, sorta.”

She nodded, smiling. “ that would be awesome!”

She hesitated but climbed on*

She grinned running over to the door, and knocking on it.

Spearmint walked into the garden, seeing the panicking Dutch. “ you lost her didn’t you.”

Spearmint chuckled. “ I know where she went.” She walked over to the door, opening it.

Mugman open the door. “ yes?-“ he froze seeing ivy. Cupman soon came over. “ who is it- holy cow it’s a miniature spearmint”

Mugman smiled. “ well it’s nice to meet you both, you must be spearmint’s daughter. Come in!” Spearmint walked over to the edge.

Cup head chuckled. “ don’t worry, if dice can fit you can fit.” Mugman elbowed him.

Ivy seemed really excited, tail wagging until a knock was heard on the door. Mugman ran over and open the door. “ Spears!”

Spearmint walked in. “ I guess someone went exploring.” She said in a calm manner. Ivy smiled. “ hi mom!”

Spearmint smiled. “ it is very nice to meet you as well.”

Spearmint went over and hugged the cupbros. “ how’s everything?”Mugs grinned. “ awesome!”

Spearmint smiled, walking over and patting Alo. “ i’m Glad you are friends with my daughter. But sadly we need to head back. Someone disappeared so suddenly on their body guard that even there pet was freaking out.” She chuckled. Ivy sighed.

Spearmint chuckled. “ oh trust me, knowing ivy she’ll be here again. Cmon ivy.”

Cups was grinning. Mugs was actually nervous.

Cups chuckled, “ we have never been this close to your species before.” Mugs elbowed him. “ be polite!-“

Mugs sighed. “ that’s good.” Cups chuckled.

Mugs chuckled nervously. “ no, i’m Just nervous. You don’t know what to expect”

Cups chuckled. “ it’s fine! Spears was like that when she first came here.”

Mugs seemed fascinated by them.

Mugs shook his head. “ I-i’m Fine! You want anything to eat?”

Mugs nodded. “ what would you like”

Mugs nodded, going into the kitchen.

Cups didn’t really think how to start a conversation either.

Cups snorted. “ nice.”

Cups laughed. “ you alright there?”

Cups chuckled. “ that’s good!”

Cups looked at him for a moment. “ spearmint’s partner is a very mysterious one.”

Cups chuckled. “ 10.”

Cups sighed. “ dunno, he’s just. Secretive.”

Mugs was making a stew. Smiling as he was cutting carrots.

He jumped slightly. “ oh hello alo.”

He smiled. “ of course!”

He snickered. “ ah yes, that I true.”

He smiled. “ any other questions?”

He froze. “ well, we aren’t exactly allowed to tell anyone. But his name is Vivian.”

He paused. “ ironic for what he does, really. He helps lost souls without bodies to the abyss. Everyone’s final resting place.”

He shrugged. “ I...had no idea.”

He nodded. “ agreed.”
