LinkYou guys can complain how there could have been a different solution but to be honest this was what I recommended him to do
Shut the site down if you know you can’t afford to get moderators instead of protecting the feelings of the few souls who still want to be on this site
Flipanim suffered like the opposite fate of whiteboardfox, that other site got turned from being made for work offices into trying to pivot to what most people used it which was for drawing on one place at the same time. Meanwhile Flipanim, already vagabondly out of breath by 2021 lasted a whole 5 years before tomazs flipanim decided to finally put an end to its misery
I’m assuming it must have been hard for him to finally decide to do this, or maybe not considering he barely ever publicly interacts with it
To be honest if I cared about my site so much I wouldn’t have abandoned it with no moderation so I’m not sure how much he cares about erasing everything
I’ve been wanting FlipAnim to be shut down for ages, I’ve seen so many kids have to act like moderators and mediators have to make their own documents and callouts on pedophiles it’s horrible
I’m not gonna act like I won’t miss it, but having communication to be shut down is the right decision regardless on how nostalgic this place is
I mean tbf, if he really did not care he wouldn’t have warned anyone, one day flipanim works, the next poof. And where would people complain or anything, what kind of whimpering presence did this site even have with the limited and dwindling number of people on the site if that had actually happened.
I think the most interesting bit is how comments did get this treatment though, getting archived and etc
I kind of wish he deleted it immediately, everyone is dropping their socials rn and it could lead to the wrong people reaching out to others and etc etc
You would think with the site being so small kids would be safer and they would be able to recognize dangerous people but even when most people were gone horrible people still found their ways to to advantage of the poor moderation on this sitr
Tbh I wasn’t around for a lot of this since I very lightly lurked for the past 5 years, what kind of crazy crap must've happened on this site I wonder that’s for sure
I didn’t know how to feel about the archiving of comments, I don’t like to count my eggs before they hatch
I didn’t understand how it fit in with April fools- especially when anims were getting archived too along with post cooldowns and comment cool downs
Maybe FA was going to moderate for April fools and then leave again
I said yesterday maybe he was Re uploading all the comments and it was taking awhile and I’d just wait to see what happens
