1. Get an apple 2. Find an appropriate knife that you ---a. Know how to use ---b. Will cut the apple with a clean cut and not bruise it ---c. Doesn't have teeth 4. Wash your apple and make sure there is nothing on your knife 5. Get a clean cutting board and put the apple on it 6. Make sure to stand it up right (stem facing up) 7. Cut the apple in half (make sure to keep fingers out of the way of the blade) by gently pushing the knife down while holding the apple 8. Lay the apple flat-side down on the cutting board and cut it in half again 9. Cut the core out by cutting a triangle shape into the apple wedge (blade facing away from you) 10. *For slices, not wedges* Lay the apple down on a flat side and slice the wedges into the desired amount of slices 11.
